staff correspondents operate from two main offices in the United
States - the regional editorial headquarters in
WashingtonD.C.

United Nations
building in New York.
Their output is
supplemented by stories from a network of freelance (stringer)
correspondents based in the major U.S. cities and in Canada.
The IPS news
report is distributed to media and non-media clients across
North America through the New York office of
Global Information
Network (GIN).
IPS features on a wide range of issues affecting the developing
world are printed in many of the nation's ethnic and
special-interest newspapers.
Staff at the IPS
Washington office includes the agency's
Regional Editor and two
correspondents in charge of special coverage of environmental
issues and the operations of international financial
institutions - the World Bank and the International Monetary
Fund - and their dealings in the developing world.
The IPS program
for achieving equality in access to expression and
main-streaming gender perspectives in its editorial product also
is controlled from Washington.
